2009 Reflections:
2009 has been a year full of ups and downs.
Working for the first time at CO Body j8, I've learnt a lot of things, such as interpersonal relationships in a workplace, and also how to handle difficult customers, and also knowing new people, like Tricia, Deon, Wendy, Laiting, Zana, Elaine etc. They really taught me a lot of stuffs, and especially Elaine who's always treated me as a younger sister and always there for me when I need to pour out my problems to someone. And of course, my dear Sheila who's been through the interview and working times with me. Without you, I guess I wont stay at BJ8 for so long, and knowing more awesome people around, such as those next door, Samuel, Roy, Joanne, Lena etc.
I made a tough choice this year, as I got the opportunity to choose between a good JC (such as AJ/VJ), and a poly course that I've always wanted to go. Not that I've regretted my choice, but I do wonder how different would I be if I went to a JC. Still, being a 9 pointer is something that I was very proud of, and definitely something that made me feel like I have done my parents proud. I stil believe going to a poly was the right choice for me due to my personality, and despite all the objections from my cousins and relatives, Im happy that my parents stood by me all the way and supported my decision.
Polytechnic has changed my life drastically. I have to learn about meeting new people, experiencing new stuffs, and also to juggle old friendships. Chervyn, the formation of 6teen, and the group Tension are my strongest pillar of support from Primary and Secondary days. Im glad they have stood by me no matter what.
Making new friends was something I had to go through. Getting to know H12 people, I realised how confined I was in my little IJ bubble. I didnt really see the world as much as I thought I did. I even have a "family" now (: Gwen, Huiyi, Wanleng, Sammy, and also Huiyi and Wanleng's boyfriends are in the family too! How cute :D They've been there for me in the poly context, and I was exceptionally grateful to them when I went through a rather tough time. Thanks girls for being there for me, and always accomodating my randomness <3
Salvo, I can say it's almost the highlight of my entire year. Starting from the camp, I've got to know my girls, Star, Sher and Kal. They have been there for me in everyway possible. They have always been there, and though we had our ups and downs, I am happy that things kind of worked out too. And also many other friends that I've come to grow close with. Salvo is not only about the people there, but I've also come to realise how determined I can be. I don't wanna miss Salvo, and I really want to get a new score right whenever I am taught one. I'd like to perform and shine on stage as I did from Huahui, and I miss the feeling of being on stage. This is something I've been talking about all year, and yeah, I hope Salvo can help me to fulfill this wish of mine, and I would also want to keep these friends as long as I can, because they've also been so dear to me. Thanks for everything guys.
These events in 2009 have made me a newer, stronger, and different person as of 2008. I grew up, learning life lessons, and also thankful that till now, 2009 had been going well for me. I am supposedly in the best state now, as I have groups of close friends, and also a close-knit family. 2009 is ending well overall for me, and I am thankful for everything I have now (:
